On April 20 of 2021, Apple announced the release of their brand new product, the Apple AirTag.
The AirTag will be available for purchase on the Apple website by friday 30, 2021.
What is an Apple AirTag
An AirTag is a coin-sized accessory manufactured by Apple, helping you locate your items, whether from a short distance or from afar (Keep track of your keys, wallet, luggage, pretty much anything.)
How do I connect the Airtag to my phone?
It is a small accessory that connects to your iPhone via Bluetooth. When you want to locate your items or the AirTag, you can use the “Find My Phone” app to locate it if it is within the Bluetooth range. The AirTag is connected to your phone and also your Apple ID.
Once connected, you can name your AirTag or even add an Emoji as a name.
AirTags have a built-in speaker that plays a sound when you connect them or to help locate them.
What happens if I lose my AirTag?
Since your AirTag is connected to your phone number as well as your Apple ID, it is pretty much easy to find the owner’s information. All the other person will need to do is scan the AirTag to their device, and the owner’s information should pop up.
Ps: The AirTag can be connected to an Android device by using NFC technology. Even with an Android device, your phone number or any relevant information you previously entered for your Airtag should pop up.
Do AirTags have Batteries?
Yes, Airtags have a CR2022 small battery.
Is My AirTag waterproof?
AirTags are not waterproof. However, they are IP 67 certified, which means they are water and dust resistant only.
How do I attach my Airtag to my Bag, Keys…?
Apple offers a wide range of Apple-designed AirTag accessories, and you can also purchase third-party accessories.
Can I be tracked with an AirTag?
The short answer is no! If you have your phone nearby and it notices that another iPhone is following your movement, it will play a sound to notify you. The software is smart enough to know whether or not the Airtag is following your movement or it belongs to another user nearby.
